Wash Park Lifestyle: The first date

This was another lifestyle photo shoot taken in the Washington Park neighborhood in Denver, Colorado.  A brief photographic story of a young couple meeting in front of a cafe.  I actually photographed the couple all over town, including inside a coffee shop and near rustic buildings, but these were my favorite. It’s a bit more editorial looking than the other images I photographed.

The lighting was soft and airy which I felt complimented the feeling of the images that I was trying to portray.

Henna Art for Pregnancy

This was an interesting photo shoot that I did this week.  It was to show the henna that a local Denver artist does on pregnant bellies.  She actually free-hands the henna on the belly.  I did the photography to emphasize the henna, but also to show the natural feeling of a person who would get henna done on the belly.  The model, Nikki, was one of the henna artist’s clients who was about 5 weeks away from having her baby girl and she did a beautiful job.

Kid Portraits

Here are a couple of lifestyle photos I took.  I was recently asked to put together some of my children lifestyle photographs and these are just 2 of many that I gathered.  The top image was a recent photo shoot I did in Denver, and this boy Charlie sure is expressive. The bottom photo was from last summer, but I thought it paired well with the natural, warm colors of the top image.

Let me tell you, being a photographer that can photograph children definitely requires a unique set of skills, but it’s a lot of fun.

Regis University: Be Influential

This is an ongoing shoot for Regis University’s new campaign of “Be Influential.”  It is for the College for Professional Studies program, which is mainly ‘Adult Learners’ that take night classes to get their Masters and/or Bachelors in different areas.  Regis is doing a different type of testimonials where they are focusing on recent graduates that are influential in society, on others, or in their own lives.

They came to me to photograph the advertisements for this shoot.  Throughout this campaign I’ll be taking photographs similar to the ones you see here, with a more editorial style to the imagery.  They are story-telling images that contain portraits, emotions, and snippets into the lives of each person.  Then, Regis is using the incredibly talented Jordan Sher, http://myheadfullofideas.com/, to produce the copy for each individual story and put them up on Regis’ microsite, http://CPS.Regis.edu/beinfluential, which will be launched at the end of June. Be sure to check it out and read each of their amazing stories.

Here you will see a Parole Officer, the director of a Community Center, a Technological Gardener, and a Photography Teacher.  I’ll occasionally update my blog with more Influential people from Regis.  Enjoy.
