Rockin’ hippies

This was a really fun photo shoot focusing on some action shots of a holistic hippie couple playing and enjoying their music. We really wanted the photos to focus on their mood and energy.  The models did a wonderful job of bringing an energetic, positive spirit to the shoot!

Simple, tight cropping with high-key contrasty lighting made for the images you see here. We brought the dog in to be an accessory that you don’t really notice at first until the shot is examined closer. Fun, fun!!

Day in the life of a toddler

This was a really fun shoot examining the life of a toddler. This great kid, Marley, was so energetic and fun to photograph.  Overall I wanted to show his personality and capture some moments in his life.  I love these images because to me he almost seems like an adult since it’s just him hanging around with the dog, bathing, laughing, roaming, etc.  Anyway, it was definitely story telling photography with an enjoyable model.

Henna Art for Pregnancy

This was an interesting photo shoot that I did this week.  It was to show the henna that a local Denver artist does on pregnant bellies.  She actually free-hands the henna on the belly.  I did the photography to emphasize the henna, but also to show the natural feeling of a person who would get henna done on the belly.  The model, Nikki, was one of the henna artist’s clients who was about 5 weeks away from having her baby girl and she did a beautiful job.

Catalog photography: Redefining a brand

So this was a recent project I’ve been working on for Solar Advertising in Castle Rock, Colorado.  They distribute promotional products such as lip balms, hand sanitizers, lip gloss, etc.  They wanted to re-brand their company, so with the help of Roger Maynor’s Design we created a new look for their product.

They are going natural with all of their products and wanting to promote a “green” lifestyle.  So in order to achieve that in the photographs we utilized simple, natural props and a recycled paper looking background.

Overall, I think we really accomplished they style we were going for.

Check it out.
