Architecture Firm Photography

Comments Off

I just did a photo shoot in Boulder, Colorado for an Architectural Firm called Z Design. They needed some somewhat abstract images for their new website being created by Brian Oliva at Cultural Operations. Overall we wanted photos that focused on one point but showed some depth in their space. Also, as you’ll see with the last 3 photos, we did an environmental portrait of each of their top 3 execs at Z Design. For these they wanted them to be “caught in the moment” story telling portraits. So, that’s what we did. Most of Z Design’s business is international, so they wanted to get a feeling of their space and people without showing it so bluntly. Here are the results.

Food Photography: Bimbamboo

This was for an editorial photography shoot in Boulder Colorado.  Bimbamboo is a restaurant that serves wonderful modern Asian dishes.  It’s wonderfully priced, and the food is fantastic.  It was a fun shoot to take part in.

I photographed a variety of sliders, pho, and a few other dishes not shown here.

Food Photography: Bloom

Here are some photos from the restaurant Bloom at Flatirons mall just outside of Boulder, Colorado.

I photographed an editorial food review for a magazine here in Colorado and for Fox Restaurant Concepts who is the parent company of Bloom.

I photographed their fried chicken, bars of sin and key lime pie.  All of their dishes are wonderful at Bloom.  I highly suggest you try them all.

Base Jumping Photography

Comments Off

This was an Advertising photo shoot for Sparkfun Electronics in Boulder, Colorado.  The guys base jumping are Michael and Jason Cooper, twin brothers from Canada.  Michael created a device to measure the force that impacted his body during a jump, using Sparkfun’s WiTilt.  So this photo shoot was to advertise one of the many uses Sparkfun’s products can provide.

We shot in Moab, Utah off of two different cliff locations.  Casey, the rock climbing expert, assisted me by belaying me off the side of the 400 foot cliffs which enabled me to get most of the shots you see here.  Whew~!!  That’s an angle I could have never gotten otherwise.

I can definitely say, this was one of the most exciting shoots I’ve been on in a long time.  Beautiful scenery, sketchy hikes, and an adrenalin rush you can’t match.  Plus, I love the results.
