This shoot brought up a good topic on how to show variety through one product while still keeping the same style and branding they use in their advertising. This can often be a challenge with food photography, and I’m going to show you my solution.
This client, Udi’s Foods, has a line of artisan granola. They wanted to showcase different uses for granola, other than just in a bowl of yogurt for every shot. So, we started thinking about the ways people consume granola and how we could pull in some of the ingredients they use to make each product. We ended up with these four shots: frozen yogurt, breakfast yogurt cup, baked apple and cereal.
The client wanted to give these images a slightly rustic feel while keeping within their “style” of photography we have developed for them. So, by bringing in some rustic props, keeping really shallow depth of field, and having rich, warm, side-lit food, we accomplished that here.
Overall, they were thrilled with the results and so were we. It turned out to be an incredibly fun day!
