Glass House Architecture Photography

I had an architecture photo shoot this week in Boulder, Colorado for a local Boulder and Denver area magazine.  The article was on the ‘most expensive house in Boulder.’  It is a stunning house, nicknamed the Glass House, up in the foothills with views on both sides of the mountains and city. I shot mostly interiors, and some exteriors as well.  As you can see, the dining room and kitchen are lined on both sides by floor to ceiling windows.  The architect’s intent was to make sure the view was perfect from any room you sit in.  He also added a fountain between the dining and living rooms that mimics the shape of the flatirons viewed out back.

It was a lovely treat to get to photograph such stunning architecture, around such warm people.  Due to the time of year we were shooting, and there being so much snow on the ground, we chose to go with a high-key lighting to bring the attention away from the exterior.  I’ll be heading back to the home this summer to shoot a few more exteriors, possibly at dusk, when the landscaping is lush and vibrant.

Anyway, enjoy…
